Explanation of Magic

You walk a little ways down the hallway and come to a double door. One door is propped open and you can hear somebody talking within the room. You walk in and see several desks, chairs and tables, most filled with people. The speaker is a tall man wearing old style Japanese robes. His long silver hair gives him a mature look, but his face is that of a young man, despite the eye patch over his right eye. You spot an empty chair and take a seat to listen.

"Alright everybody, thank you for coming today." He smiles to everyone in the room and shuffles a pile of papers on the podium. "I am Lochiel, this is a minor explanation of magic, shall we begin?" A few soft murmurs go through the room. "Okay, let's start."

"Now, magic can be one of many things, some use magic as an extension of themselves, using their energies to make their power, but this takes a great deal of practice and is very powerful when used, these people are normally White Magic users and healers.. Another is by using the natural forms of magic around you, these are the Earth Sages and Sages. Most other classes create and use magic by tapping into the magical flows all around us, mainly concentrated into streams, rivers and pools. These people are the highest percentage of magic users. Some people try to learn all the different kinds of styles used, most don't live through their first experience blending all three, but those who do turn out to be very powerful and very strong magic users."

"That's about all I can say on the subject, but it is vital that once you learn magic, you practice daily so you don't make mistakes and hurt yourself and others. Thank you for coming and listening, please proceed to the Magic Schools for more lessons on Magic." Lochiel stands and bows, then takes his seat and takes a drink from a soda can at his side. The paper sheet comes around to you, you study it momentarily.
