You enter a room. Small, and quite stuffy. There is a stage with a pedestal and a michrophone at the front of the room, and the rest of the room is littered with chairs, mostly filled with people. You wave to a couple that you know, and then take your seat as a woman steps onto the stage.
"Hello. I am Crysta Aragaron. I will be explaining about the history of The Miscellaneous Magic Users Guild."
She has sky blue hair down past her midsection, brilliant emerald green eyes, and a beautiful purple robe. She smiles at the crowd and brushes her hair behind her ear.
"When the World was young, various clans formed across the world to be able to protect those of the kind in each Clan. Many clans formed, banding together to start towsn, citites and even Kingdoms eventually. But Magic Users did not come into play until those who had the gift learned they could use it. The magic useres of the land were persecuted by most and feared by more due to the powers they had that nobody else did. The talents they showed scared some and magic was considered anathema. Most mages died when they were young, for nobody knew the limitations of their powers until it was too late, and magic was as dangerous to the caster as to the victim of the spell.
"Gradually, the mages became more powerful, and those who survived the first trials of spell casting became the most powerful and most revered. One of these higher mages who possessed power and skill beyond anybody else created the first Guild of Magic. He was a Dogima magic user by the name of Kalir. The first Guild of magic grew and thrived under his care, magic became a less dangerous skill and was finally accepted as it became safer to cast spells. Magic became very well known and those who possessed the spark; or ability to use magic became well trained to survive the rigors of casting. This first span of the Guild was title the "Age of the Dog."
"At Kalir's death, a powerful human mage under his Guild came to be the GuildMistress. Caliss by name, the span she was in control was short, as her lifespan was that of any human; too short. She made many changes and advances in the art of magic, and her reigning time was known as the "Age of the Roc."
"Many ages passed, mages grew stronger.. and some wanted more; turning to brave the darker paths of magic and worship. Disaster struck as people began to fear these dark mages, nad the Guild was destroyed. The members of the Guild scattered across the land, many were killed or went into hiding; never to be seen again. Some tried to create Guilds of their own, but many of these failed and one by one were destroyed until there was no sanctuary for the magic users, Once more, they were left to their own devices...And magic became weak again.
"Hundreds of years later, a mage Guild was created in the famed Kingdom of Camelott, The Red Moon Guild. It was run by a powerful demoness adept: Kitrasina Alveran. Though the Guild may have become a place for the mages to gather, the Kingdom of Camelott fell to ruin, and the Guild followed; sadly. Several more years passed until a second attempt was made to re-create the Guild of Magic. Kitrasina Alveran - now Kitrasina Rivan, began control anew. This was the "Age of the Gryphon".
"At 19 years of age, Kitra Rivan recreated Kalir's Guild outside the walls of the high reigning Kingdom of Windor. When Windor fell, it was moved to the heart of the Windor Forest. The Miscellaneous Magic Users Guild began to become more and more powerful as mages from all corners of the world began to flock to the Guild to relearn magics and spells. And those who wished to become mages came as well to study, to undestand magic, or to find if they too could be spellcasters. The MMG reached a point of strength that no Guild before it had ever been able to reach and as the population of mages grew, a second in command was chosen to aid Kitra in her goals of making the most powerful Magic Guild around; An Undine Adept by the name of Amrick Hightide.
"Prosperity of the Guild increased as time passed, but the darker forces that had destroyed the first Guild of magic began to arise once more, and threaten the Guild's existance as well as that of the MMG's brother Guild: The Engineer's Guild. The Master of Darkness; Retsim Relluf arrived in the Guild, and began to plot against the GuildMistress; Kitra Rivan.
"War broke out and both the Engineer's Guild and the Magic Guild were attacked. In the war, the GuildLeader of the Engineer's Guild; Skan Erreden, was killed in the struggle against one chosen by Retsim. Quickly after, Kitra was killed as well by Retsim himself in the ruins of the first guild of magic. Victorious, Retsim returned to the MMG and spoke of his victory, then attempted to destroy the rest of the Magic Guild. Unfortunately, he had not counted on the combined forces of both Guilds to attack, and he was destroyed by Skan and Kitra's followers.
"With both Guilds in a state of chaos, two new leaders arose from the ashes of destruction. Kojiro Ayame, a human mechanic and engineer was chosen by Skan himself to take over the Engineer's Guild right before Skan's death. At the death of the leader, he took control of the Guild and reconstructed it, making it stronger. As for the MMG - the Undine, Amrick Hightide, took over. As the MMG's previous co-leader, he saw it fit only to lead himself, brushing aside those others who would have taken Kitra's place. His short reign was called the "Age of the Shark". Amrick soon left the MMG, returning to Nordak Tae to take over the position of Blue Meijin, completely leaving the MMG to whoever would take over.
"The MMG was taken over by myself, Crysta Aragaron, and Lika, and thus began the "Age of the Dragon". I later left on business, and Ragnarok Gotterdammerung stepped in to take my place.
"But who knows what the future holds?
"Those who hold the key to magic, hold the key to power."
